UF stands for Ultra Filtration: ultrafiltration. UF or ultrafiltration membranes are made from hollow fiber membranes with pore sizes from 0.01 - 0.1µm - micrometers (equivalent to 1/5000 the size of a hair, usually 50-70µm) capable of filtering. separate colloids and dissolved solids in water. C. RO SYSTEM

The RO filtration system is a water filtration system that uses reverse osmosis membrane technology or RO membrane (Revers Osmosis), which can remove up to 99% of dissolved impurities. Ensure that toxic substances such as arsenic, iron, lead, manganese, sediment, and organic substances in the water are completely treated.

An industrial RO filtration system is made up of many components, industrial RO water filtration equipment and most importantly, the RO filter membrane.

The operating principle of the RO system includes 3 parts: pre-treatment, RO filtration, and RO filtration post-treatment (depending on water quality requirements).

Pretreatment

The pretreatment system is made up of many filter columns, pumps, filter materials, control valves, etc. They have the common task of removing impurities, large sediments, heavy metals, organic substances, and softening water. . D. DI WATER SYSTEM

Deionized Water, also known as DI water, removes all ionized minerals and salts (both organic and inorganic) from solution through the ion exchange process. Because most water impurities are dissolved salts, deionization produces a highly purified water that can be considered ultrapure water similar to distilled water. Compared to distillation, deionization is faster, less energy intensive and more cost effective. Water after DI treatment reaches a level of purity with almost only water molecules (H20) remaining with an electrical conductivity index < 3µS/cm.

Nowadays, modern technology is increasingly developing. Many water filtration and treatment techniques use electric current to exchange and dialyze unnecessary ions from the water source. EDI technology combines ion exchange technique, ion membrane exchange technique and electrodialysis technique to create the purest water source. EDI differs from deionization technology using ion exchange resins in that it does not require the use of chemicals such as acid and caustic soda.

OPERATIONAL PRINCIPLES OF DI WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM

DI MIXED BED WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM

The system works on the principle of ion exchange which helps to remove all types of dissolved salts in water, whereby total dissolved solids (TDS) are removed from water through the ion exchange process using Cation and anion resins control ions in the water.

The plastic particles are like a magnet. When water flows through the tank containing H+ cation particles, it will attract positive ions (Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, ...) and release H+ ions.

3Resin-H + Ca2+ + Na+ → 2Resin-Ca + Resin-Na + 3H+

After passing through the Cation column, water will be directed to the column containing Anion particles. The OH- radical anions will attract negative ions (HCO3-, Cl-, SO4 2-, ...) and release OH- ions.

3Resin-OH + SO4 2- + Cl- → 2Resin-SO4 + Resin-Cl + 3OH-

The H+ and OH- ions then combine to form water

H+ + OH- → H2O

Over time, the Anion and Cation resin beads are saturated. It is necessary to restore the ion level back to the resin according to the previously designed cycle. Positive cation resin beads will be supplied with H+ ions with dilute HCl. Negative Anion beads are supplied with OH- ions by dilute NaOH solution.

In reality, to bring about higher efficiency and durability for the device, it is necessary to have a degassing unit behind the Cation resin column to remove dissolved gases including CO2, H2S...

EDI DEMINERALIZATION SYSTEM

The EDI demineralization system is set up to operate according to a certain mechanism. The first is to use exchange membranes and electrodes to remove dissolved ions in water. Next, apply advanced electrolysis technology to ionize all water molecules and form OH- ions and H+ ions.

Each EDI module includes 5 main components: ion exchange resin, 2 ion exchange membranes and 2 electrodes.

In the EDI device there are 2 main compartments:

• Dilution chamber: contains mixed ion exchange resin with purified water or dilution of ions.

• Concentration chamber: concentrates ions and contains wastewater.
