Caustic Soda Recovery
A. OVERVIEW
A mercerizing unit is used for strengthening the fabric and to improve the lustre of the fabric. Mostly this process is used for cotton fabric or a mixed fabric which has more cotton in it. This is familiar in the denim / jeans industries.
In mercerizing plants the raw fabric is treated with caustic lye. During this process weak liquor is discharged with 5% concentration (50000 ppm of caustic lye). This caustic lye can be recovered with the help of a caustic recovery plant which consists of multiple evaporators. In the evaporators the weak liquor is concentrated to 26 % and reused in the mercerizing unit.
B. OUR SOLUTIONS FOR CAUSTIC SODA RECOVERY
Panatech is the exclusive technology partner of Confident Engineering India Private Limited - a pioneer company in India in the field of water and wastewater treatment for more than 20 years. Confident has successfully applied the caustic soda recovery process in fabric factories.
During this process we will get clean hot water as condensate from the caustic recovery plant which can be reused in the process.
With the help of a caustic recovery plant we are not only recovering the caustic lye which goes along with wastewater but also recover clean water for reuse. We also reduce the contaminant load in the wastewater stream. In this manner we can save money by reducing fresh water purchase and discharge fee.
Normally most of the industries require a 100 KLD caustic recovery plant. The payback period (ROI) will be less than 18 months.
